Job Title: Coordinator for Human Resource Services

Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership for human resource activities to ensure high quality staffing and retention of district personnel. Implements legally sound and effective human resource management programs, policies, and practices. Provide support for the strategic planning and implementation of assigned human resource programs to include leave administration, performance appraisal, employee relations, and benefits.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree, preferred
Experience:
- 3 years experience in human resources administration, public school administration, or related field
- 3 years supervisory experience, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of the selection, training, and supervision of personnel
- Knowledge of wage and salary, benefits, and performance appraisal
- Knowledge of school employment law, personnel law, and hearing procedures
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and statistics
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Strong communication, public relations, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and to small and large groups of employees
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support the Executive Director for Human Resource Services in efforts to work with principals and other administrators to forecast staffing needs and develop staffing plans.
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies for district personnel. This includes attending job fairs.
- Work with campus administrators to aid them in the screening and selection process for employees. Ensure credentials are up to date and appropriate for assignment.
- Participate in the implementation of orientation programs for new employees.
- Work with HR staff to ensure all employees are fingerprinted (including private nurses).
- Assist with the district’s compensation program including preparing and reviewing job descriptions, salary surveys, and position reclassifications.
- Assist with identifying and responding to employee issues; work in collaboration with district leadership to ensure preemptive and effective employee communications.
- Participate in the implementation of district-wide employee recognition programs.
- Assist with employee handbook updates annually. Inform employees of personnel policies, procedures, and programs that affect them.
- Assist with annual research regarding employee satisfaction, morale, and communications. Monitor employee retention and turnover through analysis of data and exit interviews.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of human resource rules, regulations, and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
